How a night actually runs

Three screens, and only one of them is yours to worry about.

  1. The room looks up

    Cast the big screen to the venue TV. It carries the call, the pattern, the prizes and your sponsors, and it tells the room where to join.

  2. They join in one step

    bargames.live, then the code on the screen. No app, no account, no email. Someone arriving in the third round is playing thirty seconds later.

  3. You run it from the laptop

    Draw, pause, check a card, award a prize, cue the next game. Big buttons, because you are doing this in the dark with a microphone in your other hand.

What you need

Almost certainly what you already carry.

A laptop
Anything from the last decade. This runs in the browser.
The venue's TV
HDMI or casting. It only has to show a second browser window.
Wifi that mostly works
Players who drop out rejoin where they left off. Nobody loses a card.
Two hours
A full night is four to six rounds and a couple of prize games.
